Hi, my gbr's spawned for the second time today and this time I got to see the video. I got a really cool video of them spawning. Well after the process was over, momma and dad were forgetful to watch their eggs and since this is a community tank, my red tail shark got a nice mouthful of eggs. The best I could come up with is a plastic container, with some tiny....very very tiny holes. But I was worried about circulation on the eggs and since I have a hob power filter i figured I could use that to keep the eggs safe. Fortunatly they laid on a rock, so it was easily movable. I used fishing line to hang the container up at the top and high enough where my fish will hopefully not move get into. only the very tip is in the water to they would have to jump in. I then took the fishing line down to a rock where i can adjust how much flow the eggs will get. I shouldnt need much. What do you all think? will it work? Once they hatch idk what i will do to feed them. I know they are to tiny to take freshly hatched brine, Would that liquid fry food you see at the store work? Any help will be appreciated. Oh and here are some pics with my contraption

the return for the hob power filter is entering into the plastic container. I do have an extra air pump i could put in there. But how would that help any out of curiosity if there is flow from the power filter?

Thought there is flow coming in from the power filter, I doubt the holes are actually big enough that there is enough current throughout the whole enclosure. The air pump would move the water around throughout the enclosure. As you might know, rams fan the babies, if not they die. So, I'd hook your air pump next to or right above the eggs to create flow and oxygenate the eggs.

EDIT: I finally got what your saying. I would just pull up the container so non of the fish can get to it and put the air pump there so that they are safe and well oxygenated.

As for feeding fish, I used to feed my livebearer babies Hikay First Bites but freshly hatched brine shrimps will also do well or even cultured daphnia.
