Something's wrong with my female apisto. :( I noticed last night she wasn't coming over for food, which is totally not like her. She was kind of hiding in the corner, but seemed fine. Today, she's still hiding, but is swimming erratically/spinning. It doesn't look like swim bladder problem, IMO- I've had a betta with that, and this doesn't really seem the same. She's not just trying to stay upright, but actually spinning, then she'll stop for a little while and swim, then do it again.

It's a 36 gallon tank, the apisto pair, some cardinal tetras, and kuhli loaches. Tank has been running for a year, params stable at 0/0/10. All the other tank inhabitants are fine as far as I can tell. The apistos are the newest additions, from about 2 months ago maybe, the other have been in there at least 6 months or more.

Any ideas??

pH/NH3/NO2 and Temp? Pics possible?
What kind of Apisto?
Was it wild or locally bred?

Well, too late at this point. :( She died slightly after I posted that. But, FWIW, pH is low, about 6.6, it was a cacatuoides apisto. I believe Ned imports them, but I don't recall from where. But he kind of specialized in apistos, and always gets good stock.Temp is around 79 (its been warm on and off and the temp goes up a little). Can the temp be an issue if its too high?

Ammonia and nitrite were both 0 when I checked, and have been consistently for a long time. I did take a lot of plants out about 3 weeks ago (working on a rescape) and the nitrate has been a little higher- it was between 10 and 20 on my test card, but again, that doesn't seem high enough to be a real issue, is it? I'm getting my new plants tomorrow so that should help.

But all the other fish still seem fine, so maybe it was a preexisting condition? Neorological or something? :(
