I just purchased 2 black fin sharks and I have them in a 5 gallon tank with a filtration system on it. I also put sand in the bottom of the tank as advised by different websites. My problems or questions are, why did the water get so cloudy after only a couple of days and why does the sharks look like they have a slimy coating on them? I put a small spoonful of Aquarium Salt in the water before putting them in the water. Someone please tell me what I am doing wrong, I paid too much for the little creatures for them to die on me.:( I am open to any suggestions and help that I can get. Thanks to anybody that can give me some pointers to keep them alive and healthy.

I would put them in a much larger tank. I have two, and they have gotten to be 5" each. They are in a 60 gallon tank and are the largest in the tank.

But maybe I have silver tip sharks, the pictures look the same, but I don't imagine there'd be much difference in the size.

It would also help if you could list your tank specifications, ie: filter, water quality, ect, then we would be able to help you more.

I would be a bit worried about a betta in a 5G let alone 2 black fin sharks.
