Hello all,

I'm going to be making a trip to my LFS to pick up some fish to add to my tank tomorrow. Right now, I have 2 Angels and 6 Cardinals that seem to be doing well. I have a Rena XP2 canister filter on clean-up. What I want in my tank is as follows:

2 Angels
6 Cardinals
6 Rummynose
3 Dwarf Otocinclus
2 Dwarf Gourami

Does this sound like an overstocked tank? Room for more? Can you see any problems with these species getting along? Any suggestions? I'd like to keep the bioload low enough for a weekly 10%-15% water change if possible, while maintaining optimum water conditions.

Whoa..this hobby can be addicting.

Looks pretty good to me. The only thing I would be worried about is the angels and rummynose. It's possible they may become food, I'm not sure how big those tetras get.

You have really good filtration so that list shouldn't be a problem. I like the selections good, excellent choices!

I believe the Rummynose can get up to 2" as is the same case with Cardinals. I'd like to add the Rummynose along with my Cardinals because I've heard they tend to school together. My larger Angel has started to chase the Cardinals around a bit and I'm hoping that by adding the Rummys, they will all gain confidence in numbers and be less stressed by the Angels.

Not a bad idea, that could work out well. They will look nice if they do school together and with the angels around they probably will.

How big are the angels now? Everytime I see rummynose in stores near me they are quite small.

My LFS had Rummynose that were around 1". They have been out of them since last week and are supposed to get a new shipment today. My Angels are approximately 1.5 inches and 1 inch in body height, not including fins. I'm really wondering if the Dwarf Gouramis are going to harrass the Angels at all. The larger Angel owns the tank at this point.

I recently added a small angel (about the size of yours) to a tank with a neon blue dwarf gourami and haven't had any problems.

rummynoses are actually larger than cardinals, or at least they can get bigger, ive seen some as long as 2.5 inches, but i dont remember if they were false or real, if that makes a difference even:confused:
