2 threads showed up on the search and one was for flora max bulbs so I'm assuming there won't be too many replies on this one!
The lfs (pop and son) I love so dearly doesn't carry flourite but has and uses Flora Max. Anyone here use it? I saw it for sale at aquatic-store.com so was hoping someone could comment on this stuff.
I can get a 15lb bag for $17.50 at the lfs, or pay $15 plus shipping($4.50) for a bag of flourite (unless someone else knows different?).
Anyone?

I've found onyx for 11.99 a bag very often mail order.
I like SeaChem a lot more than other companies, they are more service oriented IME/IMO to the consumer. There is no real difference in the products, but I patronize good companies. Your LFS might be one such place but why don't you ask them to get some onyx for you and see what price they can do?
I'm sure their distributor sells SeaChem stuff.
That way you can patronize both the LFS and SeaChem.
SeaChem is second to none as far a service and going the extra mile for the consumer/customer or discussing anything related to their products/availability etc.
Even if the LFS cannot get it, an email to SeaChem will find a way to get you some should you want it.

Tom Barr

Thanks for the quick reply Tom. I've actually been "pushing" the lfs to stock Seachem products and they are stocking ferts now. I'll ask about getting substrate too.
To be continued...

Ask and thou shall receive! Yup, no problem. He's checking on the price between a couple vendors.

About Onyx sand and it's "slight buffering capacity"...

Since I do weekly water changes, this shouldn't be a concern...should it? pH 7.6, Kh 130-150 ppm
