Lighting - Skippy (or any1) - Is this correct?

I specified Skippy b/c I'm trying to do what he did, but I'm sure others know how.

I'd like to put three strips into my DIY hood (48X18). All I need is the correct ballast (electronic ones don't require a starter??) and end caps? Of course the bulbs too!
I know BigAls has the kits but Skippy's way was cheaper. YES, I'm aware of "you get what you pay for"!:) But seriously, if there are concerns with this, please let me know. Thanks.

I'm starting to feel like a cheerleader about this, but check out ahsupply (ahsupply.com). Great prices and product. And with three 48" strips you could put an ungodly amount of light in there. Ballasts, endcaps, reflectors, and a whole pile of mounting clips, screws, wirenuts, etc. Bulbs are separate.
