Anyone heard of these? LFS has a couple, but they don't know scientific name. Look alot like a pictus cat without the spots. Can't find them on any info sites either. Thanx

could you possibly be talking about the Bala Shark (Balantiocheilos melanopterus)? If so, they can reach over a foot in length, schooling fish, peaceful. Needs a LARGE tank. Hope that helps.

I can't find anything on planetcatfish, scotcat, or fishbase for a bala cat. You may want to check either planetcatfish or scotcats for pictus cats. There are several fish in this family that appear similar in body shape and whiskers but differ in coloration.

i would suspect bala shark. "sharks" and cats seem to get mixed up quite frequently, ie "shark cat" and "sun shark (sun cat)."
