got my AC 500 going now on my 55 (i know it can handle up to 100g tank hopefully it's not to much tho ) the thing is great - clean water etc - however the flow is a little intense - the current of the water is moving plant leaves on the bottom of the tank! - i have toppeed the aquarium off (water was slightly low) this has helped a bit - i see i have a flow knob on top the filter - i have pushed it to the right it seems to have lightened the flow a little - i can't find anything in the instructions though
is it right or left to reduce the flow (pretend your looking at the filter head on )
thanks!

Left means the intake tube is siphoning at the highest rate. If it's to the right, then the intake is partially blocked, and there is less water going through it.
I wouldn't worry about it though--I prefer lots of water movement, and have an AC 300 and three powerheads running on my 55. A lot will depend on the fish you have, of course. Mine are mostly cool water fish from streams and rivers.

I wouldn't worry about it. My cories like playing in currents--they will swim into the powerhead, then 'surf' the current back out.
