Does anyone know what a blushing fish is? My friend picked up some fish today and got one. The LFS suggested for an uncycled 10 gallon tank:
3 neons
1 "catfish"
1 blushing fish and
1 angelfish

My friend got these fish because he knows nothing about fish

I'm not really a cichlid/angel guy, but I think "blushing" is a type of angelfish? Just a color variety or scale type maybe?

no he said it isnt an angelfish, I'm thinking its a type of cyprinid or characin. I did think of angelfish when he first said it but he did get an angelfish and the blushing fish didnt look like it

I dunno then, maybe it's a rosy barb?

Could also be a type of Rainbowfish. My two different species of Rainbows are light colored with rosy gills/cheeks.

Tell him to check out this site:

Thanks for the help, it ended up being a flame dwarf gourami. I dont know how that could be seen as a blushing fish?

Thanks

Could it be a Rummynose tetra? They have a pale silver body, a zebra striped tail and a bright red face.

You might want to tell your friend angelfish are WAY too big for a 10 gallon. The minimum I would consider putting one in would be 35 gallons.

Thanks for the replys, It definitely is a dwarf gourami. I've told him the angel will get too big within probably a month. He got 4 more neons like I told him to do because they are schooling and he's just going to leave the one cory alone for right now because the tank is overstocked.

Thanks for the replys
