blue jack dempseys

My LFS has several of them. I thought "cool, they're beautiful!" Then I saw the price. 30 bux apiece. Can anyone share thoughts/experience about them?

hmm i remember a few years ago a friend of mine added a JD to his tank that had been running very well for ages, a few months later there was a fat JD and one other fast moving fish left.
I do not have any personal experience with them though.

I don't know much about them. I have heard that they are less aggressive and stay smaller than the regular dempseys. You might want to try asking this in the cichlid forum or having this post moved by a moderator though. I think quite a few people in there have had experience with them.

pretty cool, awesome looking fish but they cost too much. like 50-70 dollars for nice sized ones, the petstores are a rip, i would get some from jeff rapps though, his are the best.
