I'm planning on getting a (proven?) pair of GBR's for a 20 Long aquarium. I don't want to plant it too densely. I think I will just have some Sword Plants and some Anubias's because I'm sick of dealing with live plants. I'm going to have a few flowerpots in there and maybe cut the top off of a coconut and put it in the substrate so that there is a slight concave surface. Will this work? Also, should I put any other fish in there? I have heard that they are better parents if you keep a few neons in there to guard the eggs from. Thanks :D

You can put some neons in without any problems. However, fries will not survive since the tetras are too fast and grib them from the parents.

There are excellent parents but like it was said, best by them selves, if fry

Also you will want to use fine sand substrate because they like to dig a pit to move the free swimming fry to. Also, java moss will help because of the tiny organisms that the fry will feed on.
