I have recently read about collecting infusoria/green water to feed to fry. Well I am planning on raising killifish fry (aphyosemion australes) and was wondering about this stuff.

There is a glass strip under the light in my tank that keeps getting covered in dark green algae (just above top of water). If I put this algae in a bottle of water and leave it in the sun will it provide good food for fry? I am also planning on having a lot of java moss and/or naja grass in their growout tank. Think it will be safe to use this algae to feed the fry before they can eat microworms?

using a a piece of lettuce works for me. try putting some of that algae and put it in a jar outside in the sun and see how that works, i have a tank thats been outside thats dark green you cant even see through it but theres crayfish in there.
