It was a last attempt to try and find an owner and some input for this brand before I bought ... and with the results, I went ahead and bought a Filstar XP2..... the price was right, has multiple filter baskets, is quiet (not silent), and a nice simple flow control right at the end of the output nozzle so for now it works real well in my 20g with the spray bar facing the back wall, waiting for a 60 g...... setup was 15 min and away it went ..... perfect :dance

Filstars are good, i am sure you cannot go wrong. i just bought a jebao online for $66 shipped, i will have to wait and see how it is. if it really is a Eheim without the name then it should work well.

The entire ViaAqua brand actually falls under the name "Commodity Axis" now. The ViaAqua filters and heaters are basically the Kia of the fish world. Meaning, they sell them for low prices because they don't do much design on their end. They're reasonable but you can spend more money and, as usual, get a better product from a different company.

Just FYI you may want to look at Jebao filters as well, look exactly like the Eheim Pro series.

When you get the Jebao Filter running, can you please let us know how good you think it is. Thanks.

Alright, found out some more stuff on ViaAqua.

There products are made in the same plant, with the same parts as the product they are imitating, (at least in most cases.) I'm sure they make some changes, because otherwise that's hardly legal. Anyway, an example would be the Penn Plax 'Shark' Internal Filter. ViaAqua has the exact some product, the picture on the box is the same, however the ViaAqua is 9.99 and the Shark 24.99. I work at a Pet Store, and this info all comes from our distributor, so...
