I have two ram's which one has grown and done very well in my 55 gal tank. He or she seems to be the agressive one. The other one hasn't grown to much and stays in the corner and doesn't have color. I think she's afraid to leave the corner. I was thinking about moving the smaller one to a 29 gal tank that I have 8 serpee tetra's and 5 silver hatchets. Do those of you who are familiar Rams would this be a positive move? If not what are some things I could do to make her more secure in the 55 gal. It's a peaceful tank as far as other fish and is understocked. The most aggressive fish is the larger Ram. It is a low light planted tank and I could add more plants if necessary.

thanks for the help

I think it should be fine. It has to be better than where it is now.

You could try it but watch for aggressiveness of the Serpaes. The ones I have are pretty mellow to anything bigger than they are. I keep them with Tiger barbs and Blackskirt Tetras. Everyone stays pretty conspecific when it comes to aggression.

You could always move the aggressive ram to live with the serpaes if they are too pushy.

Thanks for the info. I have moved to the 29 gal with the serpee tetra's it has been about 4 days and all is good. The ram is now right out in the open and up from waiting for food. The serpee's seem to be more interested in each other than any other tank mates.
