Beats me. Guesses though would seem limited to:
SNAKEHEAD!! /insert theme from "Jaws" here
or....
baby versions of whatever adults you have in the pond.
Choice 1 is the only fish I know of that can crawl on land for short distances to get into water that it was not previously located in. Otherwise we would need to know what the pond was already stocked with. :)

LOL I have goldfish, mosquito fish, mexican goodieds, albino paradise fish, blue paradise fish, least killies, whiteclouds and crayfish. No snakeheads.:headshake2:

funny my first thought was snakehead too! maybe a bird has dropped a fish into the pond and it was preggers

whatever they are they are cool! post what they turn out to be I'd really like to know myself... u sure a bird maybe two birds with a a net made out of twigs and stuff couldn't have possibly netted a prego snake head.. and than flown over to your pond and made a deposit?? but than again what would the air born velocity of a bird have to be to carry an adult snake head???? sorry... now I'm thinking of monty python the holy grail =D
