I'm looking for ideas on what type of cichlids to include with silver dollars? They'll be moved to a much larger tank than the current 27G.

Would any of the following mix well: convict cichlids, electric blue haps, electric yellow haps or blue-eye cichlids?

Thanks for your help.

This was from an article I just read by Paul Loiselle:

Comments: Small to medium sized, mainly mid-water feeding characoids. Excellent dither for both Neotropical and West African dwarf cichlids. Larger species (e.g., Hemigrammus caudovittatus, Moenkhausia oligolepis) can be used with medium sized Aequidens spp. and the smaller Cichlasoma spp.

Here's the link. (http://www.cichlidae.com/articles/a042.html)

ive seen silver dollars with just about every cichlid out there and the silver dollars seem to do fine sometimes they have frayed fins but thats jusr cause they dont fight back to the extent of other chchlids.
what size tank you gonna be puttin them into?

I'll be getting a 40G (36x18x15). It's quite a wide tank. I think Hagen calls it their 40 Gallon Breeder tank. Quite a nice size. I'm thinking of the 4 silver dollars with 1 or 2 cichlids.
