I currently have a breeding pair of Jewels with fry and 3 ice-blues, 27g deep.
I have noticed that the 6” male in particular is getting a bit thin in the face and I have seen him picking up food to move it elsewhere but won't eat it. The female will do the same, but I have seen her eat at times and she appears healthy.
The male previously got feeder fish before he paired up, then I switched them both to primarily pellets, bldworms, and flake to decrease his aggressiveness. He seemed fine with it until the fry started free swimming. Is it normal for them to stop eating while parenting?

My male Jaguar stops eating for about 2 weeks after his frys started to swim around. He spend most of his time taking care of his young. After that, he starts eating again as before.

thx =] yeah, -he has started to eat a little here and there but still looks sunken and thin across the bridge of his snout and between the eyes. I hope he hasn't developed an illness I'll try to post a pic later. Now the biggest problem is the jewels are harrassing the rtib's to exhaustion.
