Well here is the pathetic deal, my mother has been gettin on me about how i dont have enough fish in my tank, she saw me looking at some kribensis cichlids online one day and now she is just nagging at me to get those to put in my tank. Embarrasing i know, but im 14, so i get it a lot :P. So yeah, my stock list is in my sig, is it possible to get a pair of kribs along with what i have?

Ummm, first off, what are the fractions in your sig? I hope you don't have 1/2 a GBR swimming around your tank!

I would stay away from african cichlids like Kribs.

Kribs are a bit bigger & meaner than rams. As long as there's only 1 ram & 1 apisto (which?) it MIGHT work with some visual territories. Pairs or a pair of either probably not...

Alright so just to get EVERYTHING straight in my mind:
You have a 29 gal with:
4 Rummies
4 Cories
4 Kuhlies
1 GBR

And you want to add Apistos. (?)

I wouldn't. The footprint (floor-space) of your tank just isn't all that large and then to have multiple territorial species in it is calling for trouble. If you know the gender of your GBR then you can do another (opposite sex) GBR. Also you may want to up the numbers of your schooling fish.

I would do this:
2 GBRs
6 Kuhlis
6 Rummynose Tetras
4-6 Cories (depending on species)

I'm confused as well...does it mean you only have, for example, 4 rummies but want 8?

I wouldn't add any kribs to the mix. Your tank cannot support another "dwarf" cichlid roaming the bottom IMHO.

Or it could mean had 2 GBRs, 1 died leaving 1?

This is what I assumed. I was joking about having half of a fish in the tank.

No i would say that you are stocked now if you can convince your mom you need a 55gal then i would say yes to the Pisto's and no to the Kribs, Kribs can be nasty boogers..

if you had a larger tank i wouldnt see anything wrong with it. i currently have 3gbr's and 3 kribs along with 15 or so neons in my 55g. as long as you weren't planning on breeding them you shouldn't have any probelms. my fish do quarrell a bit but overall they get along just fine

Important FACT.

You cant understock a tank. Running a tank with less than the max fish just makes life easier. Keep 2 fish in a tank that could hold 10, and it's pretty much bulletproof.

Think of it like "How many cats can I have in my house?" Sure you can have 20, but then you are the Crazy Cat Lady. No one is surprised if you have one cat, why not have one fish?

If you are happy with your tank, leave it alone. More fish means you need to work harder to maintain the tank. Make a mistake and fish die.

I would not recommend it since I had kribs with gbr and the gbr ended with 1 eye left the next morning... they're just tooo territorial unless u have a huge tank, but u have a 29.

I'm not sure about the kribs, but I kept a male GBR and a male Apisto in a 55gal with no problems what so ever. I just noticed the apisto would hang out in his cave a little more than usual after the GBR was added. No agression issues. Your 29 gallon might be a different story though.
