Clear White Jelly-like substance is forming in various spots around the tank, and the aragonite substrate is turning from orangish to greenish.

I have had the tank for 2-3 weeks. I've 2 damsel fish. I've been adding Biozine. I have numerous rocks. One I purchased had orangish/yellow and green stuff that appeared to be algae, this rock particularly is covered in the clear jelly-like algae-stuff.

Is the substrate turning green bad?

Is the clear algae stuff bad?

Anything for me to consider? Suggestions?

Also I just returned from Cabo San Lucas Mexico with some sand from the beach, anyone know anything about adding foreign sand?

When all else fails, I answer "sponge." Is it fairly firm, or really like jelly?

The greening of your substrate is a normal part of the tank becoming established. There are nutrients and light, so algae are growing. How much light have you got, and how long are you running it? During the cycle, you probably don't need them on at all.

It's probably not too bad to add the sand, assuming it wasn't collected in a polluted area. There may be an ammonia/nitrite spike from the stuff that died during the trip. I'm not sure that it will be all that good to add it, either.

It appears jelly-like, it tears, it gently moves with the current, and has slowly spread in small parts across the tank. Mainly it is on one rock.

I've got two standard bulbs in an Eclipse 300, which are on all day and part of the night.

Yeah I put the Cabo sand in the tank, it was kept in a small amount of water, so there may be live-stuff.

Good to hear from ya
