Just introduced another GBR into my tank, making one male and one female, the male is the one i just added. So here is the problem, the male seems to be doing fine, except for right as i put him into the tank, the female went over to check him out, flared her fins, and storted rammin him, he didnt really respond except for a few rams back, but then he just kinda took it, and then a few moments after, they did a sorta rubbing together twirly thing. It was like, both of their bodies were in the same position, and they were both touching, and then they were rotating clockwise, sorta like a yin yang thing goin. Then after that, the female just kinda had a few rams and left, now shes just sort of chasing the male, trying to hit his anal fin is what it looks like, and then backing off for a second, then doing it again, is this bad? I really hope it isnt because i got a beautiful pair of GBRs on my hands here. PLEASE HELP

Are you absolutely sure on the sexes?

my female rams seem to be passive most of the time, although they do go after males if they are protecting eggs or something. Here's a vid of them laying eggs and trying to protect the spawning site.

Yes, im sure, and, no, i dont think shes hiding any eggs, cuz its not like a territory kinda thing, its more like the girl has a "crush" on the guy but hes not intristed yet, and wont leave him alone, so she rams him. I woke up this morning and shes still at it, not as aggressive, but its still happening, and i cant tell if shes just ramming or nipping.

Leave it be. I have a pair that did this when I first put them together but a week later they spawned. Feed them a lot of live or frozen food to "get them in the mood" and see what happens.

Also watch him closely. If he starts showing signs of stress or if she starts ripping his fins take him out and contition them seperatly on live or frozen foods.

Good luck!

This may sound weird but my one of my gouramis did the same thing to the other. There wasn't any fin or body damage it just looked irritating to the other one, but he took it. I think it's just a "hey I like you" kinda thing...

Yeah when ever i introduce a new cichlid to my tank i find they they are a bit agro towards one another to establish which one will be the more dominant one. I think it's fine as long as your female doesn't really injure the male. Just keep an eye on it for a bit. I had this same thing for a couple of days as they establish the alpha.
