Just a thought how many wcmm in a 90g? Say like 60 and one male betta.

you could put a hundred, because they are cooler watered and slower metabolism but the betta needs warm water. why dont you get like 7 in a 10 gallon and put something cooler in a 90.

To answer the original question, you could probably put 60 or more in there, but you'd probably be better off with 20 or so. The reason is, with 60 in there, the tank will be full of them, so you wont get the good schooling effect. With 20 or so, they will have more room to swim around back and forth ect. I'd add some slowly, maybe 4-5 at a time and see how many it takes before your school looks right to you. 20-25 WC's wont add so much bio-load as 60, so you can have a more varied tank too. Maybe a nice big school of cories to go with your WC's and Betta? Or loaches instead, keeping with the asian theme.

Good luck, a decent sized tank with a bunch of small fish is always cool. Even better planted!
