Are they ok for a 20gal tank?

Saw some at the LFS and they had a nice colour to them.

I need some ideas for my tank....:D

When I was a kid we always kept blue's in a 20 gallon tank and even in a 10 back in the old days but only one or two with other fish . they were one of my favorite fish. They do get as big as 5-6", but they are slow growers, and they can sometimes be a little mean. The pet stores always listed them as somwhat aggressive but we never had trouble. we kept them with neons, mollies, danio's,swordtails, and even with tiger barbs as long as you don't get too crowded. Most blues will fend for themselves but fin nippers like tiger barbs can be rough on them. I have also used blues, pearl gourami's and opaline gourami's as filler material in my Oscar tanks when the oscars are small and the tank isn't crowded. the blues did just fine with the little oscars. but when the tank gets crowded the gourami's aren't strong enough to hold their own with the big cichlids. You have to move them out unless you happen to get a mean one.

blue gouramis are good fish my brother had a bunch ike 4 in a 10g for a while then they all got sick and died from ick, but we still got 1 nice male that survived, he is in my 55g with blue acaras and a couple of baby convicts. and hes still alive, been like 2 years now. they pretty much ignore him tho. he has been a very hardy fish i put him in my 55g when it was first setup along with a lone tiger barb, the barb was eventually eaten by my old pacus, but the gouarmi is still in there and lovin it!
