Its very sparse right now and needs to grow in but its so much nicer than the little 10g! the light is just a weak 20w fluorescent right now. The 55W PC kit is getting ordered from AH Supply today.:D

Moving all the fish from the 10g to this one has resulted in a baby boom in the 10g! I left the 2 danio fry I had in the 10g so they could mature a few more weeks. then I figured I could use it as a Q tank for the dwarf cichlids I'm planning on.

When I went to feed the fry last night I discovered another little swimmer in the tank. A closer inspection revealed at least 20 new fry clinging to the glass! since they're so young I expect I may find more when I come home today!

So much for the Q tank idea. Looks like this tank is occupied for a while :p

Congratulations on the surprise babies!

Your new tank is looking good. I think plants, like java fern, attached to that driftwood on the higher areas would look great. That's an awesome piece of wood. Personally, I would have offset it from the center of the tank. Once your plants grow in, your nice little rock structures might be lost. Again, a great start. It will be interesting to see again when the plants grow in. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I really want to fill in the back with some tall plants. Since the light is low right now I'll be getting some Hornwort and I light the idea of attaching java fern to the centerpiece. I'll look into rotala too. I need to cover up the filter tubes and that heater in the back left with some growth.

kveeti, centering the wood (its actually not real. I got it from Petsmart) is really just a personal preference. I'm hoping the plants WILL hide the rock caves! I want the fish to have some good secure hiding spots. Its far too open right now so the sooner it fills in the sooner I can look at adding the dwarf cichlids!
