HI ALL!

I have a Teratec Deep Water D18 air pump. Perhaps I'm over sensitive to the buzz, but I would like to get one that is real quiet. Any suggestions. Is there a way to buffer the buzz? I notice if you hold it or change its position, it gets quieter. But after awhile it's back to that annoying hum. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays to all!!!

If the pump has a little loop on it, you could hang it from a piece of string. They seem to get more quiet if they're suspended in mid air.

Or, go buy yourself a Rena pump - they are the quietest on the market.

I also have a Tetratec Deep Water 18. Yes, it is much too noisy for my taste - even hanging from my stand. I just put in a new Schego Optimal (200 liter/hour output) pump and it is super quiet. You don't see this brand at many places (it is German made) - but I picked mine up at www.drsfostersmith.com and so far have been very pleased. Not only is it quieter - but it is more pwoerful than my DW-18
