got this set up from AH supply to get new lighting on my tank - think this will work ?
my tank is a 55g -

2 x 55 watt Bright Kitâ„¢ Item # 30552 $64.99

Cool. I love ahsupply.

Should work, yah. I know a couple of people who use that same setup on their 55gs. I only have the 36w kits as of now, though.

so the 2x55w kit is two kits - one for each hood on my 55g right?
then i bought the 55W bulb - which says it'll fit the fixture

I'd personally have used 6700K bulbs...since they give a whiter, brighter look.

I believe that will work fine. They're like 24" installed...the tank is about 48". Should be good to go:).
 
one more q what are the 5000k bulbs? they said it will give planted tanks the lighting of a river under the canopy of tree tops this sounded good to me?
i don't want blinding white lights either - what i have now is a weird tone of light tho -
