Okay so one of my emerald cories got in a fight or something recently because its missing its left sides whisker/bristles and it just swims around the top of the tank.

But occasionally it will let out a single bubble from its belly section, i was just wondering what are these bubbles from, and do i need to do anything?

Also is there something i can do about his whiskers? I have a fine sand substrate so it's not from a rough bottom like gravel or something.

I am so sorry you lost the cory :(, I really have no idea what could have happened--I will look around for you though!

Sorry to hear to about your cory. What else is in the tank for fish/inverts?

Sorry to hear about your Cory!

Sometimes cities barbels just end up deteriorating because of the gravel being two dirty/lots of gunk floating around.p

About the bubble- sometimes when they gulp air at the surface, a bubble or two will come out through their gills when they head back to the bottom. Could it have been that?

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I can't keep corys alive to save my life. All the other fish do great, but not cory cats. I've tried Green Corys, Peppered Corys, Albino Corys, all with the same result. The last two albinos I bought lasted just a week.

Maybe I'm just not meant to have corys, lol

Out of curiosity, how deep is your tank and tankmates?

Any sharp objects in the tank and what size tank? Type of substrates?

The tank is a 38 gallon (36" x 12" x 21"), the tankmates are all peaceful community fish (danios, cherry barbs, black skirt tetras, lemon tetras, and 2 3" upside down cats)
