OK here is the situation. I have had 2 jewels in a 55 gallon with 3 other assorted cichlids for around 6 months with no problems. Until about a month ago the Jewels went nuts and killed the others. I know they are supposed to be agressive but I thought mine were ok. They even spawned once and never acted that bad as they do now. So now I put a Red Terror in there thinking they won't bully him around. He is the same size as them right now maybe 3''. I don't want them to fight but maybe the Red Terror would give them a little attitude adjustment. What do you guys think.

Welli can tell u that a Red Devil gets to big abd aggressive for a 55 gallon depending on your particular RD he may even kill those jewels once he gets bigger

And IMO, Festae is worst than Red Devil.

And are you sure you have Amphilophus Festae? It could be Nandopsis Urophthalmus aka Mayan or False Red Terror.

True Festae gets over 12". Mayan is smaller.

Either way, a true red terror or a mayan will mop your tank with ANY other cichlid. Either fish will also outgrow your 55gal tank as well.
