Red Throny Starfish

I was wondering if anybody has successfully owned a Red Thorny Starfish. My LFS said they were reef safe, are they? And what have you fed them?

I have one , with little problem , but i pretty sure he ate a colony of polyps but they were ugly and i did not care :) I never feed him and he is over a year old he just eats what ever is in the tank . I would say mostly reef safe LOL
