I bought a beautiful used tank on Craigslist, and come with it are 3 5+ in. Discus.

The owner got sick and tired of them so he just simply wanted to get rid of them even though they are worth at least $100.00 each on the market.

I want to keep them even though I have never had Discus before, but I did have had all kind of cichlids from Malawi, Tanganyika, to S. and C. American.

My question here is: Should I add a few more Discus with these? I know the ideal number should be 6+ of them in a 75G tank. If I should add a few more 3 or 4 of them, does it have to be about the same size? If not, then how big should the new comers going to be?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys offer.:bowing::bowing::bowing:

I would just stick with what you have. Having 3 is not really ideal but if they are truely 5"+, they are adult and you can probably add some shoaling fish to them. If you never had discus before, these will be fine for you to practice on (if they are in healthy condition).

I don't recommend going out there to get 3-4 more discus unless you are ready to go out and spend a few hundred on a few similiar size discus and then go through proper QT procedures.
