I'm no fish expert but I can't tell how large that fish is..and I don't see the eggs. Are they attached to the fish?

Congrats! I had a batch too and only 10 survived. They're growing nicely and getting big. They're about 1/4" or a bit more now. She did lay another batch but I think the first babies ate them.

My jewels only spawned in a ceramic barrel, never out in the open. This was back in the early 70's and they were called hemichromis bimaculatus at the lfs. I know that more than one species are sold as jewels, but also they have changed the scientific names of a lot of fish since the 70's. Mine were 3-4 inches and more blood red than your picture. Otherwise, same shape and spots. The black spots on the gill covers and sides were outlined in green-gold, as were the lips on the fish. The male was always bright red, the female would get paler when not brooding.
Awesome ! Great pic of a lovely fish - good luck with the spawn and kudos for getting her to do so.
