Hey Rachel, Do the xenotaca eiseni get really fat before they give birth? I am a little worried about my female she is sooo big. Acting normal though.
msjinkzd
09-28-2010, 5:24 PM
yea, they look like they are going to blow. They give birth to really small broods, like 4-6 babies but the babies are HUGE

Your short finned calico BN's do they by any chance have the long finned gene in them???
msjinkzd
09-28-2010, 10:05 PM
not that I am aware of. They are domestically bred and were listed seperate as long finned gene and short finned gene

What kind of water conditions do green babaultis enjoy? My water is 6.9 pH, pretty soft, and like 80*F. Would that be suitable?
msjinkzd
09-30-2010, 6:52 AM
They like params similar to neocaridina, moderately hard to harder water.
PM'd Payment Sent YAY lol.

My friend gave me cherries and they do great in my water, so would the babaultis? I may also order cherries from you to get the bloodline better.

AHHHHHH! Christmas in September! Always a thrill to open packages from MSJINKZD!!!
Just got my pandas in, they look great! What a awesome packing job, even with the California heat, their water stayed fresh. All are zipping around the tank and eating! Also so nice of you to include an extra! Thanks again:)

They are top dwellers but they are shy. They seem to come out m ore when with fish of like size that are more outgoing. They wouldn't like large current as they are about 1".

Glad to hear it! I found the agilis REALLY entertaining and I have been so pleased with the otos I get. They come in active, fat, and eating everything in sight :) Glad they are doing well!

rach do you have a line on black cories. my lfs has them but quite pricey.
msjinkzd

they are uber pricey for me as well, nearly retail. I CAN get them, but i don't know if I could be much cheaper to be honest.

20 a pc here.. does that sound right.
msjinkzd
10-03-2010, 2:43 PM
yea, its about going rate. I can get them for less than that, but my markup with import/shipping fees, etc would make them nearlly that. I will put out a few feelers and see what I can do, I might be able to knock off some of the cost.
msjinkzd
10-03-2010, 3:03 PM
I sent out a few "feeler" emails, will see what I can do.

Rach, do you have any corydoras that would be ok with an adult Angel? I miss having corys!
msjinkzd
10-05-2010, 10:19 AM
I don't have ANY cories right now. Ordering probably next week so I will try and bring some in then. All I have left is 2 lonely little pandas and 4 HUGE brochis splendens.

Got my otos and betta simplex today. Great packing and excellent fish! I've bought otos from my LFS as well as petsmart before, but Msjinkzd's otos look so much healthier!
Betta simplex are still stressed so I can't sex them yet but I shall when they are released into the tank.

They're in the acclimating container right now and 3 of them are huddled together in 1 corner and the other one is alone in the opposite corner.
Hmm... could the lone one be the female?
msjinkzd
10-06-2010, 4:25 PM
its possible. The females have a thinner stripe on the anal fin and incomplete colored ridging to the caudal.
OhNo123
10-06-2010, 8:26 PM
After 5 hours of acclimation, I released them into my tank. They're hiding, but I'll try to sex them when they're out.
Otos went straight to work as soon as they entered the tank. So much algae...
My Calico's and Albino's came in yesterday my mom was so sweet as not to wake me up so didnt know I had them till 12midnight when I saw the package near my 53gal tank. They made it A OKAY. Calico's went straight to work the albino's decided to try and hide out first. They look very healthy.
Thanks Rachel now I got fish from PA lol.

how old are the betta simplex you sent me and how long does it take until they're matured? I'm trying to sex them, but they all look the same to me.. maybe they're still young, which is why I ask. :)

they are sexable now, i have some the same size that are holding and some others I sent out (petluvr's) are also holding. They are several months old, cannot remember exactly. Give them some time to settle in.
