View Full Version : Inheriting a tank tonight
As soon as i mention i've got got a tank i seem to be asked all the time whether i want another one. This time a friend of my father says he no longer has time to look after his one properly
Anyway, i wonder what tonights got in stock for me.
All i know is that its about 60 g's (possibly) , has a stand, has some clown loaches and quite a few more that, and i quote " I have no idea what they are"
er, great!
i'll post back if i need help identifying!
(why did i start this hobby :p )

I wish I had that problem. I do get the "oh, I've got a tank too". but they never want to give it to me. they all keep them just in case they want fish again in the future. We weren't that smart and gave all ours away. Kyle
I'd like to upgrade to a 100 gallon. I wish someon would give me one.:D

I would also like to offer myself to adopt any orphaned or abused tanks. I prefer something above 100 gallons but not required. I keep all dangerous weapons out of reach and will allow DFS inspections as often as needed. I do not abuse my fish or tanks and would have plenty of friends for them to keep company. Kyle
well, i finally have the tank at home and i'm absolutely shattered!
its about 35 gallons and hexagonal. when i went round there it wasnt very clean, i dont think the gravel has ever been cleaned  I had to fight off his 2 kids from saying "Daddy, let me get the fish" every 2minutes:mad:
Fish contents...
1 huge pleco, guess about 9 inches long
3 Clown loaches (about 3-4 inches)
1 albino cory (which i've put in my other tank)
and 6 that i cant identify, i'll try and put a picture up!
however, i also got loads of stuff in 2 huge bags full of ornaments, rocks, gravel, airpumps which will keep me going for ages!
feel a bit sorry for the pleco, not the best tank for it but my only other tank is a 25 gallon which is on its limit of fish.
:(

I may have a solution u may not like. The poor pleco should probally be taken back to a lfs that u know is a good one so it could atleast go to a bigger tank. plus u may get extra store credit like i did when some of my fish got too big for my 29g good luck with it !

I agree. See if a lfs will take the pleco. I'm surprised he's made it this long. I've had nothing but bad luck trying to keep any kind of sucker fish in a hex. Not sure if it's the depth or what? Anyways, he won't be happy in there. I'll be waitin on the pics.
By the way, he ain't huge, I got 17 and 14 inch plecos. :p
yeah, i have thought that about the pleco, he's had it for years apparently (6 years he reckons)
what i may do it is put in my other tank, at least it'll look more comfy in it (well i HOPE it does) I will have to transfer my tetras into the hexagonal one though. i dont think my lfs takes any fish.
14-17"? jeez!!!
pics to follow later!
