the store i got it from was a small operation,i was told a customer brought it in because it could no longer keep it anymore.i did notice the tail missing a little bit and i dont know what those things are called that hang down in the front, its missing like 3/4 of one.ive had other angels that have had them grow back so hopefully it works with this one.im thinking its a female, not sure though..

Nice size angel. How big is the body across? Feed it well and it should display nicely.

I have the same fish with similar problems. Missing a quarter of the little things that hang down. Quick questions,
How big do these guys get?
How can you tell the male/females apart?
lastly, (this is much more specific) they have any issues with golden rams? originally they were getting along and now mine seems to hate its tankmate.
anyway i was happy and surprised to see my same fish looking back at me on the fourms. ha.

I have two of these little beauties. The bodies of mine are almost 5"... without the fins. And they no longer like their tankmates.

I think they get fairly large, at a minimum 6-8" including fins. I have 2 large ones, that I need to take some recent pictures of.
They are very difficult to tell male/female unless you have a pair that is spawning. There are some ways to guess, but it is just that, a guess. For example some males have a bump on their head, mine does, my female does not, but it is not typical. My female is also somewhat smaller, but again I would have never known the difference until they paired off.
They might have issues with the rams, I have a pair in with a pair of GBR's, and they do chase the rams, but so far I have not seen any actual physical damage to the rams, just a bit of chase.
