there is a flat worm like creature in my tank its about 2 1\2 inches long and 4 centimeters in with. its flat and dark either grey or brown and it digs & lives in the gravel .i did not buy this thing. i have seen this exact thing in my other tank awhile back. iam guessing its been there for a while and so far it hasent harmed anything but still i'd like to know what it is.

Possibly a leech of sorts. Hard to say without seeing a picture. If you siphon it up with a turkey baster and place it in clear water with a white background (bathroom sink perhaps?), it can be much easier to identify.

It has been on rare occasion, but I have seen similar in my tanks, often surviving solo. Some swim like a ribbon flowing in the wind with their bodies flattened out, and as they lie on the bottom they change to a more rounded, worm-like shape. They are likely hitchhikers, possibly appearing after the addition of new plants. They range from reds to oranges to browns.
