I have a young male BN at about 3inches. If I go and get a female, will they breed or is it like some cichlids which will only breed if they pair up? If so, is it likely that they will pair up?
Thanks :)

If you add a female to your male, chances are more than good that they will breed. BNs are not nearly as selective as some cichlids. Good luck.

Thanks :) I'm pretty sure it's a male

Common aquarium bn, of all types, are the convicts of the pleco world. I think if they are in adjacent tanks they could still manage it :naughty:

best of luck! Try to find a gravid female!

They are very likely to pair up and breed, but it's a good idea to provide them with a breeding hut or a tube ...there are several good threads people have made about breeding their BNs on AC if you search for it. :)
