need your input folks! i have the opportunity to buy a 4 inch male albino longfin bn from a local vendor that has some great reviews and is good to deal with, according to others. i personally have not done business with this vendor (yet, at least, lol).
i am not sure on the price he is asking for this pleco though.........
does $20 sound maybe a lil wacko for one 4 inch male longfin albino bn??

If you have money, go ahead but that's pretty expensive for a pleco. I think most longfins are around $8.
Depends on the quality of his stock. Also the price on Long Finned are high along with a sexed adult. Lil high but not to much if there good quality.

It depends on where you are,how easily available they are,and how much you want it. You can also figure in how much it would be to have one shipped to you.
I think that is a bit high, but if you want it,get it,and don't worry about the price!

That's not bad for a nice looking adult. Is it 4" body length or does that include fins? I have some that are about 4" that are still very juvenile.

i would love to get it and not worry about the price but being on unemployment doesn't allow for too much splurging........
i'm fairly certain that longfin albinos are common around my neck of the woods. there always seems to be at least a bag or two of them (juvies) at the twice yearly auction and this past spring's auction they didn't sell for nearly as much as at the one last autumn. i can't recall the exact prices but they were in bags of 5 fish each and bidding ended fairly quickly.
this particular male pleco in question, his fins are said to be 40% of his total length. i have not seen photos yet.
i need to win the dang lottery!!!!! lol.
For a BN you need to win the lottery??? LOL Dang then youll never own any of the fish I own lol. To bad your not in the US ide be able to help you out.

If the price is a hardship you should definitely wait there will come a time when you will get what you want it doesn't have to be this particular fish.

I think I paid $12 for for my longfin calicos, no way I would pay that for an ABN.

it really depends on the quality. if it is proven breeder, its reasonable to ask more. for 20$ i think it is a good price, especially for a 4" one

I hope you get it. And if you do please post pics of it as honestly I've never seen one! I've seen baby brown longfin bn's, but their fins aren't even that long. Great price and hope it makes babies with your current lady :)

i'm going to be selling my angel and my peacock. this will make more room for my oscar and polleni anyway, and the angel is getting to be too much of a turd towards the oscar, and the peacock is spending too much time under his log so he will be better housed with others of his own kind. both fish will be going to live in a 320 gallon! spoiled lil buggers...... lol.
Oh ok cool. I was worried that you were parting with your O or Pol. Glad your keeping them. =-)

there wouldn't be any shipping excuzzzeme, the vendor i am going to be dealing with on this pleco is local. and most times i talk sellers into delivering straight to me at home, lol.
Uh huh talk them into delivering bet you bat your eyes at them huh they deliver you grab the fish container say thanks then slam the door behind you lol.
My O looks small in his 53gal home. Also looks fat dang pig needs to go on a diet.

i see a lot of people quoting prices but they are not pointing out the size. all those prices for a 4 inch long fin abn? at my club the long fins at 1 inch tend to go for 5-7 each larger ones 3-4 inch 10-15ish.... $20 for a adult i dont think is too bad for a long fin.

:iagree:$20 is not too much for that fish.
I made a similiar comment on my first comment in this threas post #3. Sexed BN's always cost more and it being a long finned will boost the price up just a bit more. So the price to me is a lil more then Ide care to pay for but thinking it over probably is properly priced.

About 15 bucks for one that's albino and sexed at my LFS. So that's a fairly decent price.
