i know that you guys probaly get this all the time...but what are some good starter plants for a 10 gallon with two incandesant bulbs. i dont have any snails and i would like to get a plant that my ottos would enjoy.
Most stem plants are good for beginners. They are inexpensive and more forgiving of your mistakes than many of the others.
Those and Java Fern are what I'd suggest.
Incandescent lighting is not the best for planted tanks. I'd suggest you pick up a couple of screw-in compact fluorescent bulbs at Home Depot for replacements for your present lighting.
Just make sure they will fit within your existing hood before you buy them.
They will be much more plant friendly than your light bulbs.
