The albino Cory is a true species and no human intervention. Its scientific name is Corydoras aeneus. I personally have never kept them but have heard they will pair off and kill off the others, so get a few then let em pair off. A pair should do fine in a 46. Check out www.planetcatfish.com for more on this species and many other types of cories. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.

WHOAAAAAAAA!!!!!! albino cories will NOT pair off and kill others !!! i hope the thread starter reads this! they are a schooling catfish i keep 5 of them in a 55g - i have never heard that before about them pairing off and i can tell you from my own experience they are the most peacefull fish you coul ever buy! an example i had three adults and then i introduced 3 babies - the adults swam to them as soon as they were in the tank and more or less nurtured the little ones - inspecitng them and watching out for them - i have never witnessed an act of violence from any cory - and the albino IMO are the best you can keep them with any other type such as greens as well!!! they are peacefull community botom fish try some you will enjoy this fish

My experience has ben the same as Bass', I haven't met a mean cory yet come to think of it...

The albinos are also sometimes C. paleatus.

I agree with Bass, I've never heard nor experienced any type of aggressive behavior with any type of cory. In my experience, they've been the most peaceful tank inhabitants over anything during breeding or otherwise. However, I would guess there's always an exception to the rule, I've just never heard nor experienced it.

Thanks guys, like I said I haven't kept them in groups so can't say what they would do. I just looked it up on LiveAquaria quickly and that is what they said and my friend had 3 and the 2 killed off the third. I didn't think it seemed right but I figured I would add it as a worst case scenario kinda thing. Thanks for the correction!
