How many angelfish for a 30 gallon tall tank?

The tank should be able to support a pair, but that's about all. Best option would be to buy 6 babies and let them grow up. When you see a pair form, sell the rest and just keep that compatible pair.
If you try and keep more they are likely to get aggressive in that small space, and you will only end up with the strongest pair anyway.
