Gotcha! It's not a breeding post, just a why-did-I-wait-so-long-to-get-cories post. I'd rearranged tanks and had to give up my brackish puffer tank sadly to bring home my betta from work, long story. Anyway, we then decided to rearrange the house and get rid of some furniture and the 29g tank so that I could have a real desk to work at instead of cobbling together an end table and little side table thingy when I work at home. It was sad but needed to be done. Plus, we were replacing the awful 60s/70s carpet with nice oak look laminate.

Anyway, I took the opportunity to restock my 75g community, which I had been less than enthused about lately. The betta went back into his 5.5g from work but is now on my desk at home with a tiger nerite.

The 75g now has an angelfish, about 12 lemon tetras (can never seem to get an accurate count, started with 15), 6 flame tetras, 2 L387 plecos, a female kribensis, a handful of nerites, apparently at least one amano shrimp survivor heh, and 5 corydoras. I held off for the longest time from getting corydoras for various reasons in my nearly 4 years of fishkeeping and up to 5 different tanks at a given time, but seeing all the posts about the playful antics of cories, I started wanting them.

The lfs was selling them as punctatus cories, and at least one of them could be that species, but there are others that look more like Corydoras leucomelas and another similar cory species. I quit looking after about 50 pages on Planet Catfish, after being reassured that all the ones that were similar to what I have were about 2" (this was when I still had them in the 29g). I am totally in love with them. It's so funny to see them bury their heads in the sand and shimmy looking for food. Oh, yeah, and I took the opportunity to replace the bleh blue, black, and purple gravel with blank sand. :D

I just love cories, they are the perfect little community fish, and super cute too!

Nothing beats cory wiggle-butt. :thm:
It's impossible to stay sad/mad/upset when you watch them swimming around!
