iv got a planted 29 gallon and id like some advice on stocking levels and such. iv got 1 spotted cory and i plan to get him some friends. assuming the only other fish in the tank are 2 banjo catfish, how many more corys can i get?
by the way, the cory iv got, he's by himself right now, is it normal for a single cory to not be very active?

I'm not entirely sure about cory behavior as a result of being alone, but they should be kept in groups of at least 4. So, it's entirely possible that he'd be inactive as a result of being alone.
With a 29 gallon, I'm sure you could fit quite a few more cories. I'd definitely get him some friends asap.

i'd say anywhere between six and eight cories for that size tank, along with the 2 banjos.

I agree with BFM... 6-8 cories in a tank that size would be nice.

Cories definitely have different behavior when kept alone vs. in a group. They are shyer and much less active when they're alone.

Cories should be kept in a shoal of at least six. Assuming you have good filteration, you can add something like 10 or more cories.
I have 18 cories (7 panda, 6 Davidsandi, 5 Agassizi) in a 20L g and the water parameters are always 0, 0, 5. I'm running an Eheim 2217 and an AC50 on that 20g.

the big one is maybe 4.5" and the little one is about 3". they are so cute! i love them! sometimes i think if i didnt have any fish other than them i would just go out and start a banjo breeding tank. :)
yes i know, it took me a while to get back to posting on here again... sorry.
18 corys in a well filtrated 20L. awesome! im working on getting my tank planted a bit more heavily right now and then im thinking of taking another look at corys. i like juliis as well as pandas. how big do they get though, as full grown adults?
