XP1 FilStar biological filtration Help Please

I have the XP1 FilStar Canister Filter. There is know space for Biological filtration like on XP2 & 3. So how will I get
Biological filtration? Sorry but I'm new to this. It's a 29 gallon tank and will have a couple Orandas in it. Thanks!

Theres enough space in the top tray to put a box of the stars rena sells. I just set mine up monday nite. Or the eheim stuff is smaller yet.
