My pleco is around 8 inches now and he will eat 2 algae tabs a night. I have heard they will also accept meaty foods like live brine shrimp, bloodworms and Tubifex worms.I recently purchased three Bamboo Shrimp to help control the algae in the tank.Within 24 hours they disappeared with out a trace.Have plecos been know to eat ghost shrimp or Bamboo shrimp in the past?

I'm not sure if a pleco would eat shrimp, BUT: shrimp are famous for disappearing acts. Many people have assumed that all of their shrimp were eaten or died only to tear the tank apart months later and find them all alive and well. Also, shrimp don't live all that long and can be sensitive to water parameters....

My guess is that they are hiding. You'd be surprised;)

at 8 inches, a bamboo shrimp would make a tasty snack to your plec i'm afraid.
also, bamboos won't make much of a difference on anything except green water, due to the fact they're filter feeders.
