Seachem Flourish vs Flourish Iron

Hi I'm gona have to start doing fertilizer to my plants. Still kinda deciding whether I'm using self-made PMDD or buying from Seachem. Using the Seachem maybe abit easier to start....

Anyway, just want to make sure I'm correct,..that the "Flourish Iron" is basically iron-only-supplement, right? But "Flourish" also contains iron already, so if I use "Flourish" then I dont' really need "Flourish Iron", correct? Thanks

It really depends on your setup, if you have a high light tank with co2 injection then I would and do add iron supplements in additon to the Flourish trace mix. I add Flourish twice a week and iron four times a week as iron only remains available to the plants for four to six hours. If you have a lower light tank with no c02 then Flourish should be fine by itself. Using the seachem additives seems like it might be easier, however that stuff is expensive. If you can get your macros in bulk you will save a ton of money.

Where do you get the ingredients? I did see a rather complicated list somewhere -- I didn't/don't have time for "BioTank Macros III" (or whatever..LOL) My "KNO's", "Fe's", and etc.. are hard to remember. :confused:

Heres the macros that I use in my tank along with Flourish for traces and seachems Iron.
NO3= nitrates you can get inKNO3 to help with he k additions.
K=potassium purchased as K2SO4 You may not need this if you use enough KN03 to set your k levels high enough. (see sticky at the top of this forum by Plantbrain)
PO4 phosphorous I use fleet disposable enemas.
