ya we figured the Perlmutt was a female......we had another one (a male....didn't show stripes...) but he died (presumably of bloat) a few days ago...

I think the socolofis are just showing yellow because of the camera flash ;)
 
We purchased 5 of them when they were less than 1" each, exactly a year ago, from King Ed's. They were advertised as "Kenyis" but after numerous debates on, I think it was the forums here, it was eventually decided that they were likely socolofis. I realize they might be half-breeds....but seriously...the photos don't really show how they look to the normal eye!

When they are under better lighting, they look completely different. Just like all the socolofi pics I've seen. Anyways, we're moving all the africans into a bright 90gallon tank in a couple weeks....minus the dark slate, dark sand, and crappy light. We'll be sure to take lots of pictures then!
