Whisper heater question

I set my 29 gallon up about a week or so ago...have a question regarding my heater. it is a Whisper heater. at first it was very quiet and every now and then the middle section would glow. now it is quite noisy, (buzzing, muffled snowmobile sound I can hear it in the next room) and the entire stick glows about every 30 seconds or so. it just doesn't seem right to me........what do you think???? the water temp has maintained about 76-78 the entire time.....

Not normal--unplug it, and check it for any cracks or water inside. I'd replace it--I don't think a heater should ever make noises other than a click when it goes on and off.

I agree with Oriongirl, unplug it. I have a Whisper heater as well and it doesn't make noises; only the light ever comes on. Whisper has a 2year warentee on it, so you should be all right in telling them it broke.
