Is it possible to keep shell-dwellers and small Julis together in a 20 gallon high? If so what species of each would work? I'm seriously considering turning my new 20 gallon into a Tang lake tank and I'm interested in either N. ocellatus or multis as the shell-dwellers. Do either of those mix with any of the Julis or would that require a larger tank?
Thanks,
Melissa

J. transcriptus will be your best bet... You can only have one (they are a solitary specie) and you may have to keep your shellie count to 3-4, sorry, I don't know much about shellies so.

I have ~30 multis in my 20 long, but I don't have anything else in there with them. I have thought about it, but since they are reproducing (like mad) I really hate the thought of putting in something that will upset them. They have finally stopped diving into their shells every time someone walks near the tank.
