hi,
I'm wondering what kinds of fish are okay to keep with my two angelfish. I recently moved them to a larger tank, and thankfully that has stopped the aggression of the larger of the two (I believe they're both boys) for now.

With the bigger tank it looks like a have some space to fill... I love neon tetras but I am, of course, afraid they'll be eaten in one bite! I was thinking if I had a lot of plants and hiding places, and get 6 or 7 of them it'd be okay... but I know small live fish are very tempting for angels. Anyway, do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have successfully kept serpae tetras as well as colombian tetras with no problems, and the angels are BIG.

I just put 2 red tailed black variatus, 2 mickey mouse platy, and a male sword in my 55g with an angel pair. I thought the livebearers would get the crap beat out of them but the angels don't seem to notice them. It can be hit or miss though...I think your mollies will be fine :) Watch for the angels getting aggressive. Welcome!

I have a large angel who is the boss in my 80G
He will eat whatever fits in his mouth, but I have many schools of tetras in with him and they are safe in schools with lots of plants for them to hide in.
Also as long as your angels are fed enough they should have no interest in sushi :)

mollies should be fine with angels. i've seen it done quite a few times.

just want to confirm you have the mollies in a separate tank from the angels right now and are going to quarantine them for at least 4 weeks, right?

thanks for the help- i put them in already, oops :D but other than that they seem fine... when i first floated the bag, the angels looked at them like a light snack, but once they realized they were too big for them to eat they left them alone and haven't bothered them since.

keep an extra watchful eye on your tank for the next while and don't be too surprised if ich shows up.

I might drip acclimate or just temp acclimate and dump em in and never had any problems. But I have very well established tanks and a very good lfs.

I have read that any slim bodied fish 2" or less can potentially become angelfish food (though I have seen some angels big enough to ignore that rule).
