Missy has a spring on her property (which happen to dump into her basement too often), and we wanted to set up a pond eventually, anyone know if using a spring to constantly replenish a pond is a bad thing? Might be a little worried about temperature...

Yes, that would be my only concern. Do you know about how cold this spring water is? I know many people who use springs for a pond, but not the ornamental kind most aquarists have in mind. Springs are good for fairly large ponds. In fact, thats how some start, by naturally flowing spring water.

the temperature would be the only problem. if the pond was dug deep enough, and the spring didn't disturb the deeper parts it would be fine.

Well yeah but you'd still have to worry about flooding then. I mean you'd be talking about having a HUGE pond if you dont want the spring to mess with the overall temperature of the water.
