In a new 55 gallon we have a little Green Severum, a little Jurupari, and two little firemouths. First of all is this an ok mix in the long run? They are getting along great right now, in fact the Severum and the Jupupari hardly leave each others side. Also is the tank maxed out, or could we add another peaceful fish?

That combo should work fine, althought it may get a little cramped down the road. Aggression wise you should be alright, I would just watch the Firemouths. If you have a m/f pair, they could raise a little hell in that size tank. The Jurupari could reach 10 inches, but this will take a long time (years). A 75g tank would be more adaquate in the long-term.
I would say your tank stock list is finished. You could add a catfish or two, but that's about it.
